Noel Carrington's design book, exploring ways to integrate 1950s colour and pattern in the post-war home. It was published to accompany the earlier volume by Carrington, Design and Decoration in the Home (1938). The text and images offer practical advice and examples on the theory of colour, room pattern and planning, and the use of materials. Roland Collins' colourful lithographs illustrate real homes and settings, incorporating designs by manufacturers and designers such as Liberty, Heals, Lucienne Day and Edward Barnsley. Scarce in the striking wrap-around dust jacket.
