The history of the humble button and it's significance in fashion. The book was published to accompany the exhibition of the same name at the Musée des Arts décoratifs, Paris in 2015. Several essays explore different aspects of fashion history and the famous makers of buttons. The buttons illustrated are anything but humble, showing the exquisite detail and artistry that went it to making the finest adornments.
