Rex Whistler (1905-1944) was an English artist, illustrator and theatre designer. He was great friends with Cecil Beaton and mixed with the Bright Young Things. During his short life Whistler worked prolifically and left behind numerous printed work, including book illustrations, dust jacket designs, illustrations for advertisements and periodicals, posters, maps, and ex libris bookplates.
