[Fernand Fonssagrives]

The scarce first book on the French fashion photographer Fernand Fonssagrives, published to accompany an exhibition at the Michael Hoppen Gallery in 2003. Fonssagrives worked in Paris during the 1930s, and New York in the 1940s and '50s. He supplied fashion photographs to the likes of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, as well as creating nude images. Many of his photographs depict his first wife, the model Lisa Fonssagrives (who would later marry Irving Penn).
