In the late 1960s Life photographer Eliot Elisofon carried out several assignments in the homes of the stars of Hollywood. He captured movie greats in their own homes, recording some of the the most sumptuous interiors on the West Coast. The list of sitters includes Ira Gershwin, Rock Hudson, George Cukor, Edith Head, Natalie Wood, Henry Fonda, Charlton Heston, Steve McQueen, Tony Curtis and Gypsy Rose Lee. Architects and designers are credited including Paul Williams, William Haines, Elsie de Wolfe and Tony Duquette.
