A visual examination of men's fashion and dress in the twentieth century. The book accompanied an exhibition at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. The authors recognise twelve social roles adopted by men of the time - the Worker, Cowboy, Rebel, Military Man, Sportsman, Hunter, Businessman, Joe College, Man about Town, Dandy, the Jock and the Nerd. The book explores these roles and the fashions (and fashion icons) that signify them.
