[Maria Callas]
An illustrated survey of Maria Callas' operatic performances at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Callas debuted at La Scala in 1950 with Verdi's Aida and gave her farewell performance in 1962 with Cherubini's Medea . The text is accompanied by many archival photographs of Callas on- and off-stage, and colour photos of her costumes. A complete list of her La Scala performances is included.
