[Pekka Turunen]
In Against the Wall, Finnish photographer Pekka Turunen documents the people of North Karelia in Eastern Finland. Since the mid-twentieth century, there has been a shift in Finland from traditional local culture to an international industrial market, and homes, livelihoods, and the landscape have been under threat. Turunen's photographs are insightful portraits of North Karelia's inhabitants.
