A comprehensive catalogue of Whistler's ex libris book plates. Each printed plate is catalogued and illustrated, as well as several preparatory sketches and unrealised designs. An introductory essay and individual notes are included. Whistler designed bookplates for many well known figures and patrons, including Duff and Diana Cooper, George Sitwell, and Loelia, Duchess of Westminster. They are now highly collectable and this book is essential reference.
