[The Carlyle. Dorothy Draper]
A commemorative volume on The Carlyle and those who have filled its rooms. The New York hotel opened its doors in 1930 and since then has hosted the cream of Manhatten society, including JFK, Marilyn Monroe, George Gershwin, Elizabeth Taylor, Eartha Kitt, and Duke Ellington. The book is illustrated with images of the exterior, the interiors (including those by Dorothy Draper, Mark Hampton and Renzo Mongiardino), the residents and the visitors. Ludwig Bemelman's murals grace the endpapers.
