An album of photographs by Joan Leigh Fermor, the wife of the writer Patrick. Joan was an accomplished photographer, and although her work was published little during her liftime, her images appear in Mani. Travels in the Southern Peloponnese and Roumeli. Travels in Northern Greece. The many photographs reproduced here begin with a handful of images of London taken during the Blitz, followed by a large tranche of pictures of Greece - the landscape, the classical buildings, the local people and the numerous friends that visited Joan and Paddy in their home in Kardamyli. An archive of 5,000 images is now housed in the National Library of Scotland.
