[David Hicks]

A well-preserved complete five volume set of the classic David Hicks on... series of design volumes with the iconic graphic dust jackets. Hicks is widely-recognised as one of the twentieth-century's most influential decorators. His mix of old and new, colour and pattern and his infamous tablescapes are much emulated today. Over a period of six years between 1966 and 1972 Hicks published a series of five books on design. The books were filled with his musings on what makes good decoration, practical tips on what to do and what not to do, and images of his projects in Britain and abroad. The striking, colourful dust jackets reflect Hicks' aesthetic and the style of the period, making them highly collectable. Complete sets of the series in very good condition are hard to come by.
