[Irving Penn]

A first printing of Irving Penn's book of still-life photographs of flowers. Between 1967 to 1973 Penn produced a series of photographic essays for the Christmas editions of Vogue magazine. Each issue focused on a different flower (poppy, tulip, rose, lily, peony, orchid, and begonia), showing the flower in beautiful clarity and detail, from bud, to full bloom, to decay. The photographs are collected together in Flowers.
