[Irving Penn]
Irving Penn's first book, packed full of his early images for Vogue magazine. The selection of photographs included in Moments Preserved were all taken between 1947 and 1959 and include fashion photographs, still lifes, landscapes and portraits. The 'eight essays' include 'Picasso's Barcelona', 'Faces of England', 'New York Scrapbook' and 'The Small Trades'. The layout and quality of image reproduction for the book was closely supervised by Penn himself.
